A multi-tenant document management system for the documents a forensic laboratory is accredited on and on which it depends — quality manuals, standard operating procedures, and policies — with the mapping between those documents and the accreditation standards they satisfy treated as a first-class feature.
What it does
Laboratories author manuals, organise them into hierarchical sections, control who may edit them, run a structured approval workflow before anything is published, and retain a complete version history. Crucially, the system also stores the accreditation standards themselves as structured documents, and lets a laboratory crosswalk its own procedure sections against individual standard requirements.
The payoff arrives during an assessment. Instead of an assessor asking "show me where you address this clause" and a quality manager going hunting, the system answers directly — this section, this version, approved on this date, by this person.
Key capabilities
- Controlled documents — hierarchical manual and section structure with a browser-based editor.
- Approval workflow — changes are grouped into change-sets, submitted, reviewed, and approved or rejected before publication. Nothing edits its way silently into a controlled document.
- Full version history with point-in-time snapshots, including retroactive snapshot dating for reconstructing what was in force on a given day.
- Accreditation crosswalk — map sections to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 and other standards, and easily show coverage and gaps.
- Cross-references between sections, with hover excerpts and a "referenced by" view, so the effect of changing one procedure on the others is visible.
- Faceted search across manuals and standards, with tag filtering.
- Snapshot export to PDF for external assessors and general document portability.
- Public read-only surface with per-tenant theming, for laboratories that publish parts of their quality system.
- Multi-tenant — each laboratory sees only its own documents.
Current status
The core is built and working: authoring, sections, approvals, versioning, cross-references, search, the standards crosswalk, and the public read-only surface.
